Daily Mail: Trump Tower Burger and famous customers at
NH’s Red Arrow Diner
During his visit to the Red Arrow Diner Manchester, Rob Crilly of DailyMail.com explored the diner’s pivotal role in the New Hampshire primaries. The diner has been a must-visit stop for presidential candidates since Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. Co-owner Amanda Wihby highlighted the Red Arrow Diner’s unique setting for grassroots politics, where candidates face tough questions from patrons. Recent visits include Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Senator Tim Scott who poured coffee for patrons. All four Red Arrow Diner locations are known for being a place where voters expect personal interactions with presidential hopefuls. Crilly then took a big bite out of the one menu item named after a 2016 visiting candidate: the Trump Tower Burger. The seven-ounce patty topped with a mac and cheese ball and grilled cheese sandwiches, has a lot of cheese, Crilly noted, along with tasting like ‘power.’

Guardian News & Media: ‘We’ve dug our heels in’: is this
the end of New Hampshire’s election clout?
Every four years, for the past fifty years, New Hampshire has been the focal point of the presidential primaries, drawing significant attention from candidates and media alike. However, this year, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) shifted the first primary to South Carolina to better reflect the party’s diverse electorate. This decision, opposed by many New Hampshire Democrats, led the state to maintain its primary date despite the DNC’s stance.
The century-old Red Arrow Diner Manchester has benefited from the first-in-the-nation primary more than most. As a must-visit stop for both Republican and Democratic candidates, its walls are plastered with framed photos of famous, and not-so-famous, politicians. Of the diner’s history for grassroots political visitors, co-owner Amanda Wihby said, “We feel very strongly that we do a great job of vetting the candidates here for the rest of the country, and I don’t think that tradition is going to change.”
